Just when you think you know what tomorrow looks like- today throws you for a loop. So what do you do when you don’t know what to do? That’s a great question…I was kind of hoping you had the answer- but if you clicked on this post maybe you don’t really know what you are doing either.

There is a creator that I enjoy watching that always says “do the right next thing.”

I have found that sentiment very comforting for the whole scale of confusing life decisions. For deciding which chore to do next to what career do I want to pursue. In reality- we only have THIS MOMENT promised to us. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t think ahead…but it also means you shouldn’t get lost in all the endless possibilities that tomorrow brings.

I have AuDHD- and with that can bring a lot of amazing ideas, interests, and passions. It also comes with the inability to prioritize. Prioritize what exactly? Literally anything. Sometimes I find myself standing like an MPC in my kitchen at 3pm unsure if I should do the dishes, solve world hunger, eat lunch, or start a new project. All seem plausible and equally important to do at the same time to me.

This has come with life long problems…but I am learning as I get older that all I can do at any given moment is the next right thing. Usually when you narrow down your options to that- the answer is pretty clear. You instantly let go of all the things you can’t control, you take action on the things you can, and you end up with a full tummy, clean dishes, and then eventually- you find the energy and time to start tackling solutions to world hunger.

But you can’t do everything at once- so that means it’s time for YOU to decide…what are you going to do when you don’t know what to do?
