Who Am I?
I am just a woman on the internet trying to do her part in making the world a little better.
I started Chasing Day Zero as a lifelong project-first to inspire myself, and maybe others, to make the most of each day. A public countdown to my 80th birthday is a reminder that time is limited, but also that I still have it (hopefully).
My hope is that when I reach Day Zero, I can look back and see that I lived fully- that I built community, created art, and left the world at least a little better than I found it.
I am an artist. An author. And most importantly, I am a mother.
I never planned to care about politics- but it turns out everything is pretty damn political when you care about your neighbors, your voice, and basic human rights. I am loyal to no party or organization. I am loyal to humanity-both the best of it and the worst.
So yes, I suppose that makes me an activist, too.
I don’t know what cards I’ll be dealt-but I intend to play them well.
Here’s to Chasing Day Zero.
An honor it will be to make it there.

What I’m Up To:
A humanitarian project to educate myself and others on food insecurity and doing what we can to fill up people’s plates.
Building community is a big job and it can feel hard to know where to start. Here are some resources to get started today!
What I Learned This Week
In an attempt to encourage learning- I share some things I learn every week.
